To compliment the 12-bed Maternity Waiting Ward (Chigonela) opened at Easter 2007 and to allow the patients and their relatives to cater for themselves a simple cooking area has been built just outside the main gates of St. Luke's Hospital.

To the rear of the maternity wing a Laundry has been constructed.
